A Two-Part Styled Shoot in the Heart of Toronto
As a Toronto wedding planner, I love reimagining classic spaces in bold and creative ways and our recent styled shoot at the Design Exchange was no exception. Located in the heart of downtown, this historic venue became the backdrop for two distinct scenes: a whimsical ceremony and a moody, immersive reception.
Whether you’re planning a modern wedding or looking for inspiration for a multicultural celebration, this shoot is full of creative ideas to elevate your day.
Whimsical Wedding Ceremony in the Gallery Room
The Gallery Room offered the perfect setting for a light, romantic ceremony. We leaned into soft textures, natural light, and florals in muted tones of white, cream, blush, and soft green. The overall look was ethereal and elegant, grounded by organic floral clusters.
Modern wishbone chairs gave the design a sleek touch, while the soft floral palette brought in just the right amount of whimsy. It was the kind of ceremony space that feels dreamy yet intentional – a perfect editorial take on modern romance.
A Bold, Moody Wedding Reception on the Trading Floor
For the reception, we took a dramatic turn. The Trading Floor at the Design Exchange became an immersive experience layered with deep tones, projection mapping, candlelight, and rich florals.
The tablescape design featured textured linens, layered menus, and bespoke tableware, making each setting feel like its own curated moment. Thoughtful lighting brought intimacy to the grand space, while modern florals anchored the look with structure and depth.
This part of the shoot showcased how couples can play with contrast: a soft, romantic ceremony leading into a moody and unforgettable reception.
Multicultural Styling and Intentional Fashion
To celebrate multicultural love stories, we styled our muse in both traditional Indian bridal wear and modern Western fashion. This blend of heritage and contemporary style brought warmth, authenticity, and editorial beauty to the overall vision.
Featured in Style Me Pretty and WedLuxe
We’re beyond thrilled that this shoot was featured in Style Me Pretty and WedLuxe – two of the most iconic wedding publications in the industry.
These features are a true reflection of the creativity and heart behind this editorial, and I’m so grateful to the amazing vendor team who helped bring it to life.
